โดยเมื่อวันพุธที่ 20 สิงหาคม 2568 เวลา 09.00 นาฬิกา คณะผู้สังเกตการณ์ฯ ได้เดินทางไปยังโรงพยาบาลพนมดงรักเฉลิมพระเกียรติ 80 พรรษา อำเภอพนมดงรัก จังหวัดสุรินทร์ เพื่อรับฟังการบรรยายสรุปและตรวจพื้นที่โรงพยาบาลฯ ซึ่งได้รับผลกระทบจากการโจมตีด้วยจรวดหลายลำกล้องแบบ BM-21 ต่อมา คณะฯ ได้เดินทางไปยังพื้นที่ที่ได้รับผลกระทบจากการปะทะ ณ บ้านโนนมะยาง ตำบลตาเมียง อำเภอพนมดงรัก จังหวัดสุรินทร์

สำหรับพื้นที่บ้านโนนมะยางคณะฯ ได้รับชมการสาธิตการเก็บกู้วัตถุจากหน่วยปฏิบัติการทุ่นระเบิดด้านมนุษยธรรมที่ 3 และการสาธิตการทำลายสรรพาวุธที่ยังไม่ระเบิด หลังจากนั้นคณะฯ ได้เดินทางไปยังช่องจุ๊ปตะโมก โดยคณะผู้สังเกตการณ์ฯ ได้รับฟังการบรรยายสรุปเหตุการณ์ และตรวจพื้นที่ซึ่งเกิดเหตุการณ์กำลังพลกองร้อยทหารพรานที่ 2610 กองกำลังสุรนารี เหยียบกับระเบิด

การปฏิบัติงานครั้งนี้สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความโปร่งใส และความมุ่งมั่นของกองทัพไทยในการให้ข้อมูลที่ถูกต้องต่อประชาคมอาเซียน ตลอดจนเป็นการสร้างความเข้าใจที่ดี และความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียนในการแก้ไขปัญหาความมั่นคงในพื้นที่ชายแดนอย่างสันติ และสร้างสรรค์

Royal Thai Armed Forces Lead IOT Observers to Border Areas to Ensure Transparency and Verify Ground Realities

The Royal Thai Armed Forces, through the Directorate of Joint Intelligence, facilitated the visit of an Interim Observer Team (IOT) from eight ASEAN member states, including unei Darussalam, Malaysia, Lao PDR, the Republic of Indonesia, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of Singapore, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, comprising a total of 14 representatives. The delegation was led by Brigadier General Samsul Rizal bin Musa, the Malaysian Defence Attaché to Thailand, with Major General Kan Boonchai, Deputy Director of Joint Intelligence, serving as the Thai military representative. The team conducted a field visit to the Suranaree Task Force (2nd Army Area) from 18-20 August 2025.

On 20 August 2025 at 09.00 hrs, the IOT delegation visited Phanom Dong Rak Chalermphrakiat 80th Anniversary Hospital in Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province, to receive a briefing and inspect the hospital premises, which had been damaged by attacks involving BM-21 multiple rocket launcher. The delegation then visited Ban Non Mayang, Ta Miang Sub-district, Phanom Dong Rak District, to observe areas affected by recent clashes.

At Ban Non Mayang, the delegation observed a live demonstration by the Humanitarian Mine Action Unit 3 on explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and the destruction of unexploded ordnance (UXO). Afterwards, the observers proceeded to Chong Chup Tamok to receive an operational briefing and inspect the incident site where personnel of the 2610th Ranger Forces Company, Suranaree Task Force, stepped on an anti-personnel landmine.

This operation reflects the Royal Thai Armed Forces’ transparency and strong commitment to providing accurate information to the ASEAN community. It also fosters mutual understanding and cooperation among ASEAN member states in addressing border security challenges through peaceful and constructive solutions.
