วันนี้ (23 สิงหาคม 2568) กองทัพบกได้รับรายงานจากกองทัพภาคที่ 2 กรณีพบการปฏิบัติการทางทหารของฝ่ายกัมพูชาในพื้นที่อธิปไตยไทย โดยเมื่อวันที่ 22 สิงหาคม 2568 เวลา 16.00 น. หน่วยทหารในพื้นที่ตรวจพบทหารกัมพูชาจำนวน 2–3 นาย จากลักษณะการแต่งกายคาดว่าเป็นหน่วย BHQ ปฏิบัติการดักซุ่มและตรวจการณ์ฝ่ายไทย บริเวณทิศตะวันตกของเนิน 350 ตำบลบักได อำเภอพนมดงรัก จังหวัดสุรินทร์ ห่างจากแนวเส้นปฏิบัติการเข้ามาในเขตอธิปไตยไทยประมาณ 100 เมตร จึงได้ทำการยิงขับไล่จนฝ่ายกัมพูชาหลบหนีไป
เมื่อมั่นใจว่าพื้นที่ปลอดภัยแล้ว หน่วยจึงเข้าทำการตรวจสอบพื้นที่ และตรวจพบ ทุ่นระเบิด PMN-2 บริเวณจุดที่พบทหารกัมพูชาดักซุ่ม จำนวน 1 ทุ่น จึงได้ทำการตรวจสอบพื้นที่โดยละเอียด พร้อมทำเครื่องหมายไว้ เพื่อรอรับการสนับสนุนจากชุดตรวจค้นทุ่นระเบิดดำเนินการต่อไป
ต่อมา เมื่อวันที่ 23 สิงหาคม 2568 จากการเข้าตรวจสอบพื้นที่โดยรอบของชุดเก็บกู้วัตถุระเบิดอีกครั้ง พบการวางทุ่นระเบิด PMN-2 เพิ่มอีกจำนวน 2 ทุ่น (รวมเป็นทั้งหมด 3 ทุ่น) พร้อมลูกกระสุนเครื่องยิงลูกระเบิด 2 ลูก และตะปูเรือใบจำนวนมาก
พลตรี วินธัย สุวารี โฆษกกองทัพบก กล่าวว่า เหตุการณ์นี้เป็นที่ปรากฏชัดเจนอีกครั้งว่าฝ่ายกัมพูชาละเมิดข้อตกลงหยุดยิงจากผลการประชุม GBC ที่ผ่านมาในหลายข้อ ทั้งการยั่วยุ การรุกล้ำดินแดน และการใช้ทุ่นระเบิดในการลอบทำร้ายฝ่ายไทย การกระทำดังกล่าวย้อนแย้งกับท่าทีที่ฝ่ายกัมพูชาพยายามบิดเบือนต่อประชาคมระหว่างประเทศว่าฝ่ายไทยรุกราน ทั้งที่ความเป็นจริงและหลักฐานต่าง ๆ ที่พบ ยืนยันได้ว่ากัมพูชากระทำการรุกรานและละเมิดข้อตกลง รวมทั้งอนุสัญญาออตตาวามาโดยตลอด
กองทัพบกจะได้ส่งหลักฐานทั้งหมดให้คณะ IOT ทราบถึงพฤติกรรมดังกล่าวของฝ่ายกัมพูชา และแจ้งเตือนทุกหน่วยตามแนวชายแดนให้เฝ้าติดตามการละเมิดข้อตกลงหยุดยิงของฝ่ายกัมพูชาอย่างใกล้ชิด

RTA found Cambodian soldiers violating Thai sovereignty through ambush operations and landmine placement, clearly indicating another ceasefire agreement violation. RTA prepares to report evidence to the IOT.
Today (23 August 2025), the Royal Thai Army (RTA) received a report from the 2nd Army Area regarding the discovery of Cambodian military operations within Thai sovereign territory. On 22 August 2025 at 16:00 hours, local military units detected 2-3 Cambodian soldiers, whose attire suggested they were from a BHQ unit, conducting ambush and reconnaissance operations against Thai military forces in the area west of Hill 350, Bakdai Subdistrict, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province, approximately 100 meters inside Thai sovereign territory from the operational line. Thai military forces subsequently fired to repel the intruders, forcing the Cambodian side to retreat.
After confirming the area was secure, Thai soldiers entered to inspect the location and discovered one PMN-2 landmine at the spot where the Cambodian soldiers had been conducting their ambush. The area was thoroughly examined and marked, awaiting support from explosive ordnance disposal teams for further action.
Subsequently, on 23 August 2025, during another inspection of the surrounding area by the explosive ordnance disposal team, an additional 2 PMN-2 landmines were discovered (totaling 3 landmines), along with 2 grenade launcher rounds and numerous sailboat nails.
Major General Winthai Suvaree, Army spokesperson, stated that this incident clearly demonstrates once again that the Cambodian side has violated the ceasefire agreement resulting from previous GBC meetings in multiple aspects, including provocation, territorial intrusion, and the use of landmines to covertly harm Thai forces. These actions go against what Cambodia has tried to misrepresent to the world, saying they are being invaded by Thai forces, when the evidence shows that Cambodia has been consistently aggressive and has broken agreements and the Ottawa Convention.
The Royal Thai Army will submit all evidence to the Interim Observer Team (IOT) regarding such behavior by the Cambodian side and will alert all units along the border to closely monitor Cambodia’s violations of the ceasefire agreement.
