พลเอก ณัฐพล นาคพาณิชย์ รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงกลาโหม รักษาราชการแทนรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงกลาโหม เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิดการประชุมผู้บัญชาการทหารสูงสุด ภูมิภาคอินโด – แปซิฟิก ประจำปี 2568 (Chiefs of Defense Conference 2025: CHOD 2025) ณ โรงแรมดุสิตธานี หัวหิน

การประชุมผู้บัญชาการทหารสูงสุด ภูมิภาคอินโด – แปซิฟิก จัดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปี โดยการประชุมครั้งแรกจัดขึ้นเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2541 (ค.ศ. 1998) ณ มลรัฐฮาวาย สหรัฐฯ เป็นการเชิญผู้นำทางทหารระดับสูงของแต่ละประเทศ ร่วมหารือในประเด็นที่เกี่ยวข้องกับความมั่นคง ความท้าทายในภูมิภาค ตลอดจนพัฒนาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างกัน โดยในปีนี้ การประชุมฯ ได้จัดขึ้นเป็นครั้งที่ 27 โดย กองบัญชาการกองทัพไทย ร่วมกับ กองกำลังอินโดแปซิฟิก (US Indo-Pacific Command: USINDOPACOM) จัดระหว่างวันที่ 26 – 29 สิงหาคม 2568 ณ โรงแรมดุสิตธานี หัวหิน ประเทศไทย โดยมี พลเอก ทรงวิทย์ หนุนภักดี ผู้บัญชาการทหารสูงสุด และพลเรือเอก Samuel J. Paparo ผู้บัญชาการกองกำลังสหรัฐฯ ภาคพื้นอินโด – แปซิฟิก เป็นเจ้าภาพร่วม ในครั้งนี้มีผู้นำทางทหารเข้าร่วมประชุม จำนวน 29 ประเทศ ภายใต้หัวข้อหลัก “Peace through Strength – Ensuring Security and Prosperity in the Indo-Pacific”

การประชุมฯ ดังกล่าว นอกจากเปิดโอกาสให้ผู้นำทางทหารได้พบปะ หารือ เสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์แล้ว ยังเป็นเวทีให้นายทหารชั้นประทวน (Senior Enlisted Leaders: SEL) จากประเทศในภูมิภาคฯ ได้ร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนมีการริเริ่มเชิญผู้นำยุคใหม่ (Young Leaders) ภาคประชาสังคมเข้าร่วมการประชุมฯ นับเป็นมิติใหม่

ในการแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมอง รับฟังความคิดเห็นอย่างรอบด้าน การประชุม CHOD เป็นกลไกความร่วมมือที่สำคัญ สนับสนุนยุทธศาสตร์ของชาติ ด้านความร่วมมือด้านความมั่นคง (Security Cooperation) และแสดงถึงความสัมพันธ์ ความไว้เนื้อเชื่อใจระหว่างกองทัพ ตลอดจนการเตรียมพร้อมในการรับมือกับภัยคุกคามทุกรูปแบบร่วมกัน

Deputy Minister presides over the Opening Ceremony of

Chiefs of Defense Conference 2025 (CHOD 2025)

at Dusit Thani Hua Hin Hotel between 26 – 29 August 2025

Rear Admiral Surasant Kongsiri, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence, stated that on 27 August 2025, General Nattaphon Narkphanit, Deputy Minister of Defence acting Minister of Defence, presided over the opening ceremony of the Chiefs of Defense Conference 2025 (CHOD 2025) held at the Dusit Thani Hua Hin Hotel.

The Chiefs of Defense Conference is held annually with the first iteration held in 1998 in Hawaii, USA. The Conference serves as a forum where senior military leaders from various countries come together to discuss regional security issues, challenges, and to strengthen relationships among participants. This year marks the 27th iteration of the event, and is co-hosted by the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters (RTARFHQ) and the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) between 26 – 29 August 2025, at the Dusit Thani Hua Hin Hotel in Thailand. General Songwit Noonpackdee, Chief of Defence Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, and Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, Commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, as co-hosts, welcome military leaders from 29 countries to the meeting under the main theme of “Peace through Strength – Ensuring Security and Prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.”

In addition to providing opportunities for military leaders to meet, discuss, and foster relationships, the conference also serves as a platform for non-commissioned officers as Senior Enlisted Leaders (SELs) from countries in the region to exchange professional experiences and strengthen their network. Furthermore, this year marks the first time that Young Leaders from civil society have also been invited to participate-an initiative that brings in a new dimension of open and inclusive dialogue to the platform.

The CHOD conference is a key mechanism for defence cooperation that supports one of Thailand’s national strategies of security cooperation in promoting collaboration and relationship among regional countries. It reflects the trust and strong partnerships among the armed forces and their collective readiness to confront all types of threats together.
